I wanted to retain the same dramatic architecture
in the new installation since there would be no way for me to depict
Notre Dame de Chartres without intimately associating the monument with
the Virgin Mary, the perfect elevation built by the hands of men and
the magnificent spirituality leading to the masterpiece and consecrating
the building. The work is still based on the idea of the construction
of the edifice, via colour and transparency, by the contrast in the
twilight, by the dazzling after-imagery of light when the choice of
lighting designates a point of impact, via effects that belong only
to painting in the unique relationships stemming from the digital painter's
palette. The shades of nuance model the composition when viewed in terms
of colour and the movement of the subject, from appearances to disappearances,
the stained glass which became a cathedral. From the birth of the drawing
bathed in obscurity to the emotion created by the anthem in the night,
see the imposing majesty of an immense cathedral in the shadowy light.
Animated scene lasting about 10 minutes (loop). Music recomposed in
the style of Francis Poulenc.
