A race that combines sport, conviviality, illuminations, and magic.

An unmissable event in Chartres in the spring, the Trail in Chartres en lumières returns every year on the first night of Chartres en lumières! The route connects the most beautiful illuminations, delighting thousands of participants and their supporters.

The Trail in Chartres en lumières is organised by C'Chartres Métropole Triathlon.

Program of the Trail in Chartres en lumières 2026

At 7:45 p.m. – Youth races:

  • Early Athletics (2017 to 2019): 900m
  • Poussins (2015 to 2016): 1200m
  • Benjamins (2013 to 2014): 2.4km
  • Minimes (2011 to 2012): 3.6km
  • Highschool Cadets (2009 to 2010) / Juniors (2007 to 2008) UNSS Challenge: 3.6km

At 9:30 p.m. – Trail in Chartres en lumières (from 2010):

  • This 10km course winds through the streets of the city center, the lower town, and around the Coliseum, with a total elevation gain of over 120 meters. Participants will start in waves to ensure a smooth flow. 

9:40 p.m. – Walk on the Trail course: 

  • A sporting challenge for those who prefer to walk.

  • Date: April 11, 2026, starting at 7:45 p.m.
  • Start and finish location: Le Colisée, 28, rue Danièle-Casanova, 28000 Chartres.
  • Headlamp required.
  • Public restrooms available near the start.
  • Lockers and changing rooms for women and men near the start.

Registration for the Trail in Chartres en lumières 2026

Registration is open until April 9, 2026, on promiting.fr. No on-site registration.

Prices:

  • Youth races: €4.
  • 10km trail run: €16.
  • Walk: €6.

The number of participants is limited to 2,000 runners for the trail run and 100 per youth race.

You can pick up your race number:

  • At Run Aventure: 10, rue de la Clouterie, 28000 Chartres. From April 7 to April 11 at 3 p.m.
  • At the Colisée: Saturday, April 11 from 5 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.

On Saturday, April 5, 2025, more than 1,900 of you set off from the Colosseum on the 10-kilometer Trail in Chartres en lumières, lit by your headlamps but also by the heritage illuminations of Chartres en lumières! Bravo!
